Would Seva Yoga Therapy be a good fit for my patient?

Many people first learn about yoga through its physical postures and a common misconception is that it is all about stretching or movement. While increasing mobility for pain support is a crucial step, Seva Yoga Therapy can help patients who can't move at all, as well as active individuals. Please contact us if any questions regarding using yoga therapy for pain care management and patient eligibility for our programs. We are designed to support your practice!

Seva Yoga Therapy can also offer support to people, working with their health care providers, as a non-opioid treatment integration for pain care management.

Seva Yoga therapists are held to the highest standards and have been certified by both the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and the Yoga Alliance (YA) with 7000+ teaching hours.  Therapists are also credentialed by The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH), are HIPAA compliant, have been vetted and worked within government health care (VHA), and have 2000 hours of therapeutic yoga experience in integrated medical, hospital and clinical settings.

What's the difference between Yoga and Seva Yoga Therapy?

In a standard yoga class, a dedicated yoga teacher will guide an open group of students through a series of postures that can certainly ease everyday aches, pains, and mood complaints. Our Seva Yoga Therapy sessions go much further because they are tailored to the individual and follow protocols per condition.

Whether one-to-one or in a small yoga therapy group, Seva Yoga Therapy utilizes all the tools of yoga (not just the physical practices of asana) and involves personalized assessment and goal setting in the context of a therapeutic relationship. Seva Yoga Therapists have in-depth training and experience to help them assess and keep patients safe, and to interact with other healthcare professionals effectively.
